Born from a love of celebration
If you know the iconic Mexican sweet bread, you know it's more than just food—it's culture, nostalgia, and celebration. So when Luis went looking for a concha balloon for a birthday, he assumed it would be easy to find.
It wasn't.
He searched across the U.S. Nothing. He reached out to friends in Mexico. Still nothing.
Around that same time, his longtime friend Donna reached out for feedback on a business idea. Luis replied, "I have an idea too—what do you think?" Donna's response? "I'm sure it already exists… but give me two weeks."
Two weeks later: "You're right. It doesn't exist."
That discovery led to a bigger realization. Back then, only 5 balloon designs represented Latino culture—Donkey piñata, Cactus, Sombrero, Maracas, and "Feliz Cumpleaños." Most were made by companies outside the culture, reducing our diversity to stereotypes.
That didn't sit right.
So they decided to change it. Donna asked to join forces, and Globitos was born.
